WP1: Governance and Project Management

WP1 is structured to ensure effective and efficient management and coordination of the project, and it is responsible for ensuring that each WP achieves its objectives on time.

Objectives

  • Build an agreed common vision and set of shared values for the EMERGE Alliance.
  • Establish an inclusive and representative governance structure for the EMERGE Alliance.
  • Establish a project management planning structure.

Tasks

  1. Establish an inclusive, representative governance structure to strategise, plan and oversee the long-term development of the EMERGE European University Alliance.
  2. Establish a project management structure to implement the four-year EMERGE project and ensure that the Work Packages achieve their objectives on time.
  3. Establish a Project Quality Assurance Team to oversee and audit the Work Packages to ensure quality and develop Terms of Reference for external evaluations of the progress of the Alliance and, separately, the impact of the project.
  4. Establish a Strategic Planning Unit to liaise with the partners’ strategic planning teams to ensure that EMERGE common values and the lessons from the WorkPackages are steadily built into the institutional strategic plans of partners over time.
  5. Establish an EMERGE ICT Taskforce to develop a web-based portal for students to access the LMS of each EMERGE member.
  6. Safeguard data sharing aligning with European and National Regulations through a GDPR-compliant agreement on data sharing and data security.

WP1 is lead by the University of Limerick (UL), and UL is also the coordinator of EMERGE.
