With great success and a wide response, the Webinar was organized on May 15, 2026, within the framework of the European EMERGE Alliance, in which the Democritus University of Thrace participates. The event aimed to present the innovative, educational tool of Microcredentials to the academic community and the instructors of the University’s LLL Center.
Microcredentials can be described as the record of the learning outcomes that a learner has acquired following a small volume of learning, focusing on updating skills and recognizing knowledge acquired outside the scope of traditional degrees.
The Webinar was organized by the members of the WP5 Lifelong Learning Working Group of DUTH-EMERGE. The topic was presented by Professors Nikos Papadakis (University of Crete), Thanasis Karalis (University of Patras), and Katerina Kedraka (Democritus University of Thrace).
The event attracted significant interest and high attendance from the university community. Following the presentations, a very lively open discussion took place, with the attendees actively participating in the dialogue by submitting questions and views. The Webinar was evaluated particularly positively by the participants, confirming the success of this academic initiative.
