Karoline Kühl’s research focuses on multilingualism and language contact in general, and specifically on contact-induced language change and shift from a sociolinguistic perspective. The starting point is often translocated Danish outside Denmark, i.e., as a minority language, as the language of emigrants in the Americas, and as a language in historical colonial contexts.
