Short Description : The HCTI laboratory, Heritage and Creation in Text and Image (UR 4249), was created in 2008. It consists of a team of fifty full members in Brest and Lorient, around thirty doctoral students and twenty associates, researchers in the fields of Arts, Literature and Languages, who explore the modalities of cultural heritage and creation based on various textual, digital, iconographic and filmic corpora, from Antiquity to the 21st century. As the team's name suggests, the laboratory offers various types of expertise in the fields of text and image analysis and processing, such as caricature, notably with the publication of the journal Ridiculosa, sociability in France and England during the Enlightenment, kitsch, studies on cinema and television series, and media discourse
